Which services does Amazon Pay offer?
Amazon Pay provides payment solutions for your ecommerce site that allows Amazon customers to pay on your website or mobile site using the information already stored in their Amazon account.

Which types of transactions are supported by Amazon Pay?
Can Amazon Pay...
- ... process transactions for digital goods? Yes.
- ... support pre-orders? Yes.
- ... process recurring payments? Yes.
- ... process micropayments, and if so, are there special rates for these? Yes, we can process micropayments. The Amazon Pay standard rate card applies.
- ... support crowdfunding? No, crowdfunding isn't supported at the moment.
- ... support transactions for adult products? No. Under our Acceptable Use Policy, adult products aren't allowed.
What payment methods can my customers use?
When your customers make purchases on your site using the Amazon Pay button, the following payment methods are accepted:
- Credit cards currently accepted include Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
- Debit cards currently accepted include Visa Electron, Delta, and Maestro.
The SEPA countries that accept transactions in euros are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. Notes:
- In some circumstances, buyers might be limited to using Visa and Mastercard credit cards. In those cases, the checkout process will make that clear and will let you add one of those payment methods.
- Amazon Gift Cards (specifically Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it and Amazon.es Gift Cards) cannot be used as a payment method for placing an order using Amazon Pay. Amazon Gift Cards can only be redeemed towards the purchase of eligible products at the relevant Amazon website (www.amazon.co.uk, www.amazon.de, www.amazon.fr, www.amazon.it, and www.amazon.es).
How does Amazon Pay work?
What is the disbursement time?
We process disbursements daily. It will take between 1 and 2 business days for the payment to be completed and appear in your bank account. A reserve might be applied according to our reserve policy.
How do volume discounts work?
Transaction fees depend on the monthly payment volume processed through Amazon Pay on your account: the bigger the volume, the lower the fees. Check the country-specific fee schedule for full pricing information.
To apply for volume discounts, contact Amazon Pay merchant support.
Volume discounts are based on the total average transaction payment volume for the three months preceding the date you applied. Other conditions may apply. The Amazon Pay merchant support will help you with that when you apply.
Does Amazon Pay have customer fraud checks in place?
Amazon Pay has fraud detection capabilities, chargeback controls, and risk management processes to help reduce bad debt and lower your costs. This service is provided at no extra cost. For more information see the Amazon A-to-z Guarantee Policy for Merchants.
How is VAT or other sales tax collection handled?
We charge exactly the amount that you tell us to charge. That means if you need to charge VAT or any other sales tax, the amount you submit to Amazon Pay must include all taxes.
In which countries can my business be located?
Amazon Pay is available for merchants with a place of establishment in the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
In which countries can my bank account be located? In what currency will I be paid?
GBP: For merchants registering their Amazon Payments Merchant account in the UK (via pay.amazon.co.uk) and have a bank account in the UK denominated in GBP, the supported currency for disbursement is GBP.
EUR: For merchants registering their Amazon Payments Merchant account (via pay.amazon.at, pay.amazon.de, pay.amazon.es, pay.amazon.fr, pay.amazon.ie, or pay.amazon.it) and have a bank account in any of the following countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK) the supported currency for disbursement is EUR.
Which currencies can I use to charge my customers?
For merchants that register their Amazon Payments Merchant account via pay.amazon.co.uk, the supported currency for money collected from buyers is GBP.
For merchants that register their Amazon Payments Merchant account via pay.amazon.at, pay.amazon.de, pay.amazon.es, pay.amazon.fr, pay.amazon.ie, or pay.amazon.it, the supported currency for money collected from buyers is EUR.
Note: If you want to accept other currencies, including EUR, GBP, USD, AUD, JPY, HKD, CHF, you'll need to add multi-currency functionality to your Amazon Pay integration. The multi-currency functionality is governed by the Multi-Currency Converter for Amazon Pay Merchants - Terms and Conditions. Can I set up international shipping costs?
Yes, all shipping costs are set by you. You can obtain the country and post code of the shipping address during the checkout process, which helps you to do these computations.
How do I register for Amazon Pay?

Can I use my existing Selling on Amazon account?
It's not compatible. Some products aren’t compatible with Amazon Pay, and therefore you need to create a new Amazon Payments merchant account with a new email address.
Why do you ask questions about my website?
We need to make sure that your website complies with our Acceptable Use Policy.
What are the basic registration steps?
To initiate the process, you fill in the registration form online to provide personal and business information, and all website URLs where you plan to launch Amazon Pay.
After you’ve completed these steps, you can access your Amazon Payments Seller Central account, where you need to upload a number of documents to verify your account. This step is necessary to comply with Amazon Payments’ regulatory obligations. The documentation required depends on your type of business and place of establishment. Amazon Payments will confirm which documents you must provide by email. Reply to these emails to complete the verification process. For more information see Merchant registration – getting started.
How do I find my merchant ID / API Keys?
To find your Merchant ID and API keys, sign in to Seller Central, click the menu icon, then click Integration, and then click Integration Central. For additional assistance, contact Amazon Pay merchant support.
My status is pending. When will I get an update?
Have you provided all the required information? To make sure no more required information is pending your upload, sign in to Seller Central, click Settings, and then click Account Info. You might have received further instructions via email. To find copies of these emails, sign in to Seller Central, click the menu icon, then click Performance, and then click Performance Notifications. If you received these emails, make sure you answer to them to complete verification. After you’ve provided all information requested, Amazon Payments will process your application as soon as possible, and will notify you by email when your account has been verified and you’re ready to launch Amazon Pay in your online store.
Also, make sure that you’ve provided all website URLs where you plan to add Amazon Pay for review. To add, edit and review all website URLs where you plan to launch Amazon Pay on, sign in to Seller Central, click the menu icon, then click Integration, then click Integration Central.
Why does Amazon Pay require my credit card details?
We have to have a card on file in case your Amazon Payments Merchant account shows a negative balance at some point. We are sorry we cannot do it any other way.

I uploaded a required document but have not heard anything from Amazon Pay. What should I do?
Have you provided us with all of the information we need? Double check Seller Central under Settings > Account Info to be sure. You may have received additional emails with further instructions. A copy of these emails can be found in your performance notifications. If you receive these emails, please reply to them in order to complete the verification process. If you have uploaded everything required, Amazon Pay will process your application as soon as possible and will notify you by email when this has been done. If you‘re having problems sending a document to us, contact Amazon Pay merchant support.
Is my (French) identity card valid for registering with Amazon Pay?
Yes, it's a valid ID. Here's how to determine its expiration date. The validity of French national identity cards issued to adults 18 years of age and older was extended on January 1, 2014 from 10 to 15 years. If you were 18 or older when you were issued your identity card, the validity extension applies retroactively to cards issued between January 2, 2004 and December 31, 2013. When registering with Amazon Pay, you can enter either the expiration date shown on the identity card (if not expired) or the extended expiration date.

How can I reactivate my Amazon Pay account and my URLs after being inactive for over a year?
Your registered website URL will become inactive if Amazon Pay has not been used on it for more than 1 year. To reactivate and start transacting again, re-add the existing or a new URL of a website where you want to integrate Amazon Pay through Integration Central. You’ll need to complete the verification process. As long as Amazon Pay is being used on at least one of the URLs you’ve listed, the other URLs will remain active.
