Merchant registration - getting started
When you register for an Amazon Payments merchant account, so that customers can use their Amazon credentials to pay for goods and services on your site, Amazon collects information about you and your business. Amazon accepts registration from businesses located in these countries and states.
We secure and protect your information, and do not share it outside of Amazon Payments.
As part of account registration, we require a proof of identity document, and can (during or after registration) ask you to upload one or more documents to prove your personal and business identity. Verification of your identity is required by law to open an Amazon Payments merchant account. The documents that we request vary per country where you registered your business, and also vary depending on where you live.
Either during or after registration, we also ask for your bank account or credit card information to process disbursements to you.
To complete registration and verification quickly, gather your personal, business, and your credit card or bank information together before starting the registration process.
Tip: Be sure you enter information carefully, and that your information matches exactly with the official documents you’ll upload (such as passport or ID, business license, and banking information).
If you provide accurate information, and depending on your business type and information, identification can take up to 7 business days.
If we need more information, we will contact you by email or within your Amazon Payments Seller Central account. In this case, verification can take longer. Check your emails regularly.
